Porsche Re-releases a 993 Turbo S
It was only a question of time till Porsche would join the league of Jaguar and Aston Martin and re-release a classic car. It eventually took place and their choice was the 993 Turbo S. The car was built around a surviving body shell using official Porsche spare parts. Some fine tuning increases its performance from 408 to 450 HP and some touch-ups internally and a special exterior colour yield in a look that I find very seductive. In spite of using original parts and crafts of the 90ies, the car’s year of construction will still be 2018 which puts it under contemporary regulations and therefore prevents it from being road legal.
Obviously Porsche’s concept is to promote sales of their current 991-based special edition which comes in exactly the same tone of gold. Unlike Jaguar and Aston Martin, Porsche is not trying to make money with the replica. The golden 993 will be sold in an auction later this year in California and the earning will go to the Ferdinand Porsche foundation.
